The Stone Bridge Bulldog Golf Team played a closely contested competition  at today's Conference 14 Golf Tournament, held at 1757 Golf Course in Sterling, VA.     A very good Briar Woods High School team  won the event with a score of 321.   Stone Bridge and Tuscarora both finished tied for second place with a score of 322.   Potomac Falls finished with a 339 and Broad Run shot 342.   Scoring the 322 for Stone Bridge:   senior Abby Bloom,  shot 72 and was second place low medalist for the entire field;  senior Matt Kapusta shot 82; senior Connor Steggerda shot 85 and freshman Paul Thoppil shot 83.   Also playing for Stone Bridge, Cameron Bender shot 87 and Max Carollo shot 88.    Stone Bridge lost to Tuscarora by one stroke on the number 10, par five, sudden death play-off hole to determine the second and final team to advance to the upcoming Regional Tournament.  Congratulations to both Briar Woods and Tuscarora golf teams for advancing to the Regional Tournament.

 

Qualifying for the Regional Golf Tournament as individual golfers for Stone Bridge are Abby Bloom and Matthew Kapusta.   The Region 5A Tournament will be played next Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at Brambleton Golf Course.
