Coach Richard Hayden's recent coaching experience includes leading the USA Field Hockey Futures (Olympic Development) Program in Northern Virginia since 2010, and coaching medal-winning teams at the Junior Olympics and at the National Futures Championship. Richard has participated in the Level III USA Field Hockey Coaching program, the highest level in the USA. Coach Hayden currently serves as the Coach Director on the Board of Directors of USA Field Hockey, the national governing body for the sport. 

Richard first played field hockey in middle school in Ireland. He played competitively through school, college and as an adult in Ireland and England at the national level. Recently he has represented Team USA at the Masters' Hockey World Cup. 

He has also umpired at high school and college level, including the Virginia High School State Final and college post-season games.

He is excited to share his passion for the sport, and build a fun and competitive program at Stone Bridge.

Richard and his wife Julie have lived in Ashburn since 1996.
