The Bulldog Swim Team had a good first meet against South Lakes High School at Claude Moore Saturday December 7th.  Two men broke a school record at the meet; Michael Kost broke the 200 Individual Medley record with a 2:05.19 and Danny Marron broke the 100 Breaststroke record with a 1:04.19. Great job guys for earning  Swimmers of the Meet!

The meet started out with the 200 Medley relays. Auerbach, Marron, Davidson,and Kost came in 4th with a 1:46.95; Fitzgerald, King, McArdle and Bergstrom placed 5th with a 2:01.80; Spencer, Eng, Coles and Laws placed 7th with a 2:05.34. The women's relay team of Jachimowski, Mandroc, Coon and Oh placed 2nd with a 1:59.41; Hughes, Wilson, Trent and McKenzie placed 4th with a 2:04.52; M. Keener, Boyles, Masi and McFadden placed 7th with a 2:15.10.

For the 200 free, the men, Birsic (2:29.83), Enriquez (2:36.19), Greason (2:38.07) and Silvasy (2:51.30) took 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th respectively. The women, Jachimowski (2:04.87), Wilson (2:14.41), Huctecker (2:48.89) and I. Keener (2:52.91) took 1st, 5th, 7th, and 8th.

The 200 I.M. ended up with Kost taking down a school record with a 2:05.19, followed by Davidson (2:09.10), Marron (2:13.56), and King (2:49.64) taking 3rd, 5th and 8th. The women end up 2nd, 6th, 7th and 8th; Coon (2:22.17), McKenzie (2:38.95), Boyles (2:44.11) and Tenshaw (2:50.83).

The sprint events were next with the men placing 4th, 6th, 7th and 8th in the 50 free; Spencer (24.92), Eng (25.43), Laws (25.94) and Shaikh (33.76). The women took 2nd, 6th, 7th and 8th; Oh (25.94), Trent (28.13), Hughes (28.44) and Masi ( 30.05). The men's 100 fly ended with Davidson (57.73), McArdle (1:11.18), King (1:24.56) and Beltoja (1:31.08) taking 3rd, 4th, 7th and 8th. The women took 4th, Stone (1:08.20), 6th, McKenzie (1:12.24) and 7th, McFadden (1:21.00). The men's 100 free resulted in Laws (58.26), Spencer (1:00.08), Vazin (1:06.77) and Wooley (1:07.25) taking 5th, 6th, 7th and 8th. The women's 100 free had Oh (57.35), Stone (1:02.99), Trent (1:04.77) and Masi (1:08.44) taking 2nd, 6th, 7th and 8th.

The 500 free had Kost (5:13.44), Auerbach (5:29.51), Whetmore (6:41.25) and Enriquez (7:30.06) taking 1st, 2nd, 6th and 8th. The women's 500 had Coon (5:41.01), Mandroc (5:54.02), Hughes (6:49.88) and Simmons (7:19.37) taking 3rd, 5th, 7th and 8th.

The 200 freestyle relays of Davidson, Eng, Laws and Marron (1:42.19); Spahr, Shaikh, Walton and Wooley (2:07.20); and Ullao, Nguyen, Xu and Silvasy (2:07.96) took 2nd, 6th and 7th. The women's relays of Jachamowski, Hughes, Stone and Oh (1:50.72); Simmons, Masi, Boyles and McKenzie (2:01.40); and I. Keener, Scott, Chowdhury and Tenshaw (2:17.10) took 3rd, 4th, and 7th.

The 100 back resulted with the men taking 2nd, 4th, 6th and 8th for Auerbach (1:02.65), Fitzgerald (1:07.13), McArdle (1:10.20) and Bergstrom (1:11.23).  The women took 2nd and 6th with Jachimowski (1:06.25) and M. Keener (1:24.04).

The 100 breast had Marron breaking a school record with a 1:04.19 placing 2nd followed by Eng (1:19.80) taking 6th, Whetmore (1:20.10) placing 7th and Ulloa (1:25.99) placing 8th. The women had Mandroc (1:16.05) place 3rd, Wilson (1:18.03) place 5th and I. Keener (1:35.95) take 7th.

The meet finished up with the 400 freestyle relay. On the men's side we had Spencer, Whetmore, McArdle and Kost (4:03.68) take 3rd; King, Birsic, Beltoja and Aurbach (4:30.46) take 6th; and Xu, Spahr, Nguyen and Vazin (4:53.47) take 7th. The women had the relay teams of Mandroc, Wilson, Trent and Coon (4:08.84) place 3rd; Chowdhury, Tenshaw, I. Keener and McFadden (5:11.47) place 6th; and Hutcheker, Rick, Miller and Simmons (5:11.50) place 7th.

Congratulations to both team's swimmers.  We fell to South Lakes on both the men's side with a final score of 193-90 and on the women's side with a final score of 202-83.  There's room for improvement and we will work to be better at every meet. Keep up the hard work, GO BULLDOGS!
