The Stone Bridge Girls Soccer team opened the 2011 season with a 4-1 win over West Springfield who scored first in the 15th minute of the game. Three minutes later, defender Emily Person crossed the ball to forward Ashley Herndon who found the back of the net. Stone Bridge’s Emily Fredrikson took a free kick with three minutes left in the half. Murielle Tiernan received the ball and passed it to Herndon who was able to finish the ball for her second goal of the night. In the second half, Fredrikson took another free kick and this time it was Bulldog midfielder Emily Lung who scored. Herndon ended the game with a hat trick as she scored off a pass from Lung in the 63rd minute of the game.
