Congratulations to the Stone Bridge girls soccer team for their 1-0 win over Loudoun County. Both teams had opportunities in the first half of the game. Sophomore goalkeeper Nikita Sharif kept the Raiders from scoring in the first half. With just under 18 minutes left to play in the game, the Bulldogs were awarded a corner kick and senior defender Alyssa Choo took the kick. Off the corner kick, senior midfielder Lindsay Gallagher headed the ball in towards the goal. Junior midfielder Heather Stone was there in front of the goal to put the ball in the back of the next. Junior goalkeeper Katie Rhoads kept the Raiders from scoring in the second half. The defense lead by seniors Choo, Brigitte Deel, Brenna Rivers and junior Kylie Kosko worked together to limit any Raider shots on goal. Gallagher along with junior Maggie Swain and freshman Alyssa White helped to control the midfield. The Bulldogs will play on the road again after Spring Break on Tuesday, March 29 at Woodgrove. The game begins at 7:30p.
