The Stone Bridge boys soccer team hosted the Fairfax Rebels in a Liberty District match and the Bulldogs clawed back from a 2-0 second half deficit to tie the Rebels 2-2. The Rebels took the lead with 17 minutes to go in the first half and carried the lead into the half but the Bulldogs missed several close scoring chances to post a first half score but could punch one home.
The Rebels scored their second goal with 26 minutes to play in the second half but the Bulldogs did not quit tallying two goals in seven minute. Goals were scored by seniors Tyler Anderson, 21 mintues to play and Brendan Smedley, 14 mintues to play, assists coming from junior Eamon Finan and senior Aaron Giffen. Senior goalkeeper Gene Yim recorded 10 saves on the night.
With the tie the team's overall record now stands at 2-5-2 overall and 0-2-1 in Liberty District play. The team will resume play next week when they travel to play at Langley on Tuesday, April 23.
