The Stone Bridge boys soccer team traveled to Langley in a key Liberty District game on Friday night and came away with a tough 1-1 tie. Langley got on the board first with a goal 8:13 left in regulation but the Bulldogs fought back and with 2:48 left on the clock Luke Schierling, on a long throw-in from Tommy Dunne, tied the game with a header in traffic. Both teams had opportunities in the overtimes but neither could muster the go ahead goal.
Abe Yoslov had a big night for the Bulldogs coming up with several key saves, 7 in the match overall, to help keep Langely at bay. Abe along with a stout defense made it difficult for the home team to break through. The goal by Langely broke a 5 games shutout streak for the Bulldogs. The team went close to 500 minutes of play without giving up a goal.
The team's record now stands at 5-1-3 overall and 3-1-1 in Liberty District play. Next up for Stone Bridge is Marshall next Wednesday at home and then Robinson away on Thursday.
