Ashburn, Va. – Stone Bridge High School boy's basketball team opened the New Year with a 64-52 victory against Langley on Friday night. The Bulldogs improve to 4-8 on the season after defeating the Saxons who fall to 9-3.
Jason Jolly led the Bulldogs with a game-high 20 points going 12-13 from the free throw line. Jimmy Higgins contributed 16 points, 2 coming off an electrifying dunk to start the 2nd half while Emad Rahman included 15 points with two four point plays after converting 2 and ones from beyond the 3 point range.
Stone Bridge led 41-39 heading into the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs scored 23 fourth quarter points to the Saxon's 13. The Bulldogs would eventually pull away converting on 17-18 from the charity stripe.
The boy's basketball team returns to the hardwood on January 8th as it travels to Fairfax High School for a varsity, varsity double header with the girls program. Tip-off for the girls is 5:45 and the boys follow at 7:30pm.
