Bulldog Grapplers Finish 6th in the State!

Virginia Beach - The Bulldogs claimed a 6th place team finish in the final state standings with a total of five All-State wrestlers. Stone Bridge set two school records with scoring 101 points in the state tournament and earning its highest finish in school history.

Ten wrestlers advanced from the regional tournament, and nine of those ten wrestlers were able to win matches at the state tournament, another school record. 

Senior Nic Dimond became Stone Bridge's first ever 4x state placer winner! Jonathan Korte was the first Bulldog to reach the finals since Charlie Lausten won a title in 2021. Congratulations to all of our state place winners:

Stone Bridge Places Third at Regionals; Set Several School Records

The varsity wrestling team competed in the Region 5D tournament over the weekend. The team finished thrid in the standings. Meanwhile, they set several school records. All of the following are first time achievements for the Stone Bridge Wrestling Team:

Bulldogs Sweep Double Duals

January 24 - The Bulldog wrestlers put in a dominating performance last night, defeating Potomac Falls 76-6 and host Briar Woods 67-6 to improve to 13-3 on the season. 

The team will wrap up the regular season this Saturday when they host the Bulldog Duals. Wrestling is slated to start at 10am. Come out and support your team!

Bulldog Wrestling Adds Four More Wins From Freedom Duals

South Riding. - The Stone Bridge wrestling team defeated Broad Run 47-30, Rock Ridge 67-6, Riverbend 43-27, and John Champe 53-28 before coming up short to Warren County 24-48 on Saturday at the 2024 Freedom Duals. The team improved to 10-2 on the season.

Notable Notes

  • Isaac Hall, Nic Dimond, and Jonathan Korte all went 5-0 for the day.

  • First year seniors Landon Meehan and Wyatt Rich earned their first varsity wins of their short careers.

  • Sebastian Garcia, Will Brooks, and Jonathan Korte all recorded four pins on the day.

  • Nate Jackson had three pins.

Bulldog Wrestlers Roll Over Light Ridge 59-18 in Home Opener

The Stone Bridge wrestling team rolled to a 59-18 win over visiting Light Ridge on Tuesday night in the Aux Gym. The Bulldogs picked up seven pins in the lopsided conference win. Getting pins for the team were Moose Reichow, Tyler Chin, Isaac Hall, Sri Rampalli, Daniel Pedralvez, Jonathan Korte, and Nate Jackson. The wrestling team improves to 6-1 on the season.

Five Bulldogs place at Hub Cup wrestling tournament

Hagerstown, MD - After a layoff over the holidays, several members of the Stone Bridge wrestling team started 2024 with strong performances at the Hub Cup tournament at North Hagerstown High School. The tournament featured teams from Pennsylvania, Maryland, West Virginia, Delaware, and Virginia. Originally set as a two-day tournament, the organizers had to convert it into a one-day tourney. Despite the grueling schedule, several Bulldogs reached the podium, and the team placed 9th / 19 teams.

Sophomore Will Brooks and senior Nic Dimond went on great runs to the finals to take second place and post a 3-1 record on the day. 

Senior starter Jonathon Korte earned three wins on the day and took fourth at 175 pounds in his first action of 2024.

Daniel Pedralvez and Isaac Hall advanced through the brackets to take fifth and sixth, respectively, in their weight classes (144lbs, 126lbs.), with each claiming victories throughout the day.

The Bulldogs will return to dual action next Tuesday when they welcome Light Ridge High School for a conference dual at 7pm.

Stone Bridge Takes Two of Three at Quad Meet

The Stone Bridge wrestling team won two of three of its duals Tuesday night beating Yorktown 48-28 and Hayfield 57-24 before falling to host Fairfax 30-42. The Bulldogs move to 5-1 in duals this season.

Top Notes and Highlights

-Isaac Hall, Nic Dimond, Daniel Pedralvez, Will Brooks, and Jonathan Korte all went 3-0 for the night.

-Sri Rampelli and Dominic Manicot recorded their first varsity wins of their careers.

-Stone Bridge were missing three starters Tyler Chin (120lbs), Nate Jackson (215), and Furkan Chabuk (HWT).

Bulldog Wrestlers Place 4th at Pat Dulaney Invitational

Stone Bridge sent 10 wrestlers to the Pat Dulaney Invitational at Langley HS on Saturday. Despite being a little short-handed, the team finished 4th/13 teams crowning three individual champions. Team results were:

 

Moose Reichow 3rd at 106lbs.

Isaac Hall 2nd at 126lbs.

Daniel Pedralvez 2nd at 144lbs.

Will Brooks 1st at 157lbs.

Jonathan Korte 1st at 175lbs.

Eli Miedema 1st at 190lbs.

Bulldog Grapplers Sweep Quad Competition

The varsity team traveled to Episcopal HS in Alexandria for a quad on Saturday, Decmeber 9 for a quad meet. The team went 3-0 to sweep the competition.

Bulldogs have a strong showing at the Freedom HS JV Jamboree

The JV wrestling team competed in a jamboree at Freedom High School last night. Juniors Brice Russell (3-0) and Reyyen Shaikh (4-0) posted perfect records for the night. Other noteworthy performances were put in by junior Saam Nikmaram (2-1), sophomore Daniel Andress (3-1), freshmen Grant Lester (3-1) and Kevin Quinetanilia (2-1)

Bulldogs Place Four in the Elite Opener at Washington HS, WV

Charles Town, WV- The Bulldogs placed four of eleven wrestlers in the top-four at the prestigious Elite Opener over the weekend led by sophomore Sebastian Garcia's 3rd finish at 113-pounds in his first varsity appearance. Also finding the podium in his first varsity appearance was freshman Moose Reichow (4th at 106 lbs.). Seniors Nic Dimond (4th at 132 lbs.) and Jonathan Korte (3rd at 175 lbs.) rounded out the Stone Bridge wrestling contingent who reached the podium.
