Collective Effort Extends Bulldogs Win Streak

Ashburn,VA. (stonebridgesports.org) - Tonight, the Stone Bridge High School Boys Basketball team hosts The Marshall Statesman at 7:30pm. The Bulldogs (7-9, 3-5)will look to extend their three game win streak as they take on a tough Statesman team (10-5, 5-3). Points are pouring in from a variety of players over the past few games. Over the three game span the Bulldogs are led in scoring by Jimmy Higgins with 38 points, Jason Jolly 34 points, and Bubba Lough 28 points. A strong offensive showing countered with a defensive effort that has limited opponents to 49 points has been the key to the run. Since the start of the new year the Bulldogs have gone 4-1.
The Bulldogs extended its program-best win streak at The Dog Pound to 3 games, having not lost a game in its home facility since December 21, 2012. Stone Bridge also looks to even the Liberty District standings out with a win verses The Statesman. Come out and support the Bulldogs tonight at 7:30pm as they look to improve their play in the Liberty District.

Boy's Hoops Opens the New Year Victorious

Ashburn, Va. – Stone Bridge High School boy's basketball team opened the New Year with a 64-52 victory against Langley on Friday night. The Bulldogs improve to 4-8 on the season after defeating the Saxons who fall to 9-3.
Jason Jolly led the Bulldogs with a game-high 20 points going 12-13 from the free throw line. Jimmy Higgins contributed 16 points, 2 coming off an electrifying dunk to start the 2nd half while Emad Rahman included 15 points with two four point plays after converting 2 and ones from beyond the 3 point range.
Stone Bridge led 41-39 heading into the fourth quarter. The Bulldogs scored 23 fourth quarter points to the Saxon's 13. The Bulldogs would eventually pull away converting on 17-18 from the charity stripe.
The boy's basketball team returns to the hardwood on January 8th as it travels to Fairfax High School for a varsity, varsity double header with the girls program. Tip-off for the girls is 5:45 and the boys follow at 7:30pm.
Stone Bridge sweeps Broad Run in Battle of Ashburn basketball tourney

Stone Bridge High School swept Broad Run in a varsity basketball doubleheader Dec. 29 on the final day of the fifth annual Honda of Dulles Holiday Battle of Ashburn tournament.
The Bulldogs girls defeated the Spartans, 55-46 in overtime, to finish 2-0 overall and win the tournament. Stone Bridge capped the doubleheader with a 82-66 win over Broad Run in the boys game. The Bulldogs, Spartans and Briar Woods each finished 1-1 to give all three boys’ teams a share of the trophy.

Boys Basketball tryouts begin Monday, November 5th.
Senior, Junior, and Sophomore tryouts are from 1-3pm in the Main Gym.
Freshman tryouts are 6:15-8:30pm in the Aux gym.
All paperwork must be handed-in before coming to tryouts.
